Introduction
A two-day weekend course aimed at film directors who are looking for an understanding of how to work with actors, what kind of training actors receive, and how to get the best results from this essential collaborative relationship.
Participants will experience these approaches to acting first hand in a series of practical games and exercises. They will spend the second day working with actors in scenes. DVD examples will also be considered.

Course Outline
The course will focus on the following key areas:
Day One
- What you can expect your actors to have been taught at drama school
- The actor's vocabulary - Targets, Actions, Intentions and Given Circumstances
- Stanislavski
- Strasberg and 'The Method'
- The Meisner Technique - 'Behaviour', 'Being in the moment' and 'Preparation.'
- Troubleshooting
Day Two
- Working with actors in scenes
Please note: This is a study of British and American schools and techniques. European and Asian methodologies may vary.

Adam Meggido - Tutor Profile
Adam Meggido was for many years an actor before moving into writing and directing. He is also a professional acting coach and has taught at drama schools, colleges and universities all over Britain.
He is the Artistic Director of The Sticking Place, one of Britain's most experimental film and theatre companies, where, over the past three years, he has been at the forefront of a revival in the use of improvisation as an artform.
