Introduction

A two week advanced workshop led by Production Designer, David McHenry with the emphasis on creative design and in-depth technical drawing.

This is an intensive and advanced course designed to develop an individual creative design approach alongside technical drawing skills.

Participants will be expected to prepare for the course by reading a scene from a film script that they will then design as a 'studio build'. The Production Design department will send the scene in advance and participants are expected to bring visual research/material that they have sourced as part of their personal response to the written material. The course is suitable to those with prior technical drawing experience who need to improve their skills and those wanting to progress to the next level in the art department. Accurate construction detailing within the conventions of professional drawing practices will be taught.

Building on our introductory course, Technical Drawing for Film & Television, the aim of this course is to offer participants the tools and the support to develop and progress their skills to the expected professional level.

How to apply

We invite applications from those with prior technical drawing experience who need to improve their skills, and those wanting to progress to the next level in the art department.
