Workshops

Budgeting Production Design with Adrian Smith

Monday 27th - Thursday 30th July 2009

Introduction

This workshop is a module of the 2009 Fast Forward Programme. Fast Forward is a career focused programme for industry professionals looking to develop their skills to the next level. Click here for more details.

With the current financial pressures on all aspects of film production it is now more important than ever, both as a Producer and a Designer, to have a good working knowledge of how Art Department budgets are created.

This 4-day workshop with BAFTA-winning Production Designer Adrian Smith is based around two recent productions: the award winning and critically acclaimed feature BRONSON (Best Film, Sydney Film Festival 2009) and FRESH, a new BBC3 comedy series. The workshop will centre around an in depth examination of how the budgets for these two productions were arrived at and run.
