Introduction with Mia Bays.

Leading cinema booker Jason Wood (Curzon Cinemas) on what films are working in his venues, audience trends as he sees them in his cinema, and general notes on how his role works.
12.00-12.15
LUNCH BREAK

SCREENING – Title TBC (It will be a preview of a forthcoming British film)
The screening is optional, however, the film will be used as a case study and so it is useful to see it if you haven’t already. If you have seen it, you may have a longer lunch break.

Distributor case study: Andrew Woodyatt (Head of Marketing, Revolver)
To discuss new distribution and release models (having worked with Mia on MUM AND DAD and upcoming FREESTYLE) and discussion from Andrew’s birds eye view of the UK market place and audience.
3.15-4.30
Peter Buckingham (Head of Exhibition and Distribution at the UK Film Council) Audience analysis and trends: who goes to see which films and how they make their choices.
4.30-5.30
Our digital future – Pete Buckingham and Mia Bays in discussion about new distribution models, what the future might look like and what we all need to be thinking about now in order to take advantage of this climate of change.
5.30: Networking drinks
Saturday 17th April (10am – 5pm)

Session with Mia Bays discussing the key international markets and the current climate.
11.45-1.00
Leading International Sales Agent Andrew Orr (Independent Film Sales) on the international market, how sales operate, how to work markets and festivals, the key territories etc.

SCREENING: ‘DON’T WORRY ABOUT ME’
Directorial debut of acclaimed actor David Morrissey, premiered London Film Fest 09.

Again this is not compulsory but we will be using the film as a case study.

SESSION TBC – Mia is hoping to confirm a leading film critic who will discuss how their job works, how they see the state of the UK film industry, tips on how we can improve etc.
